Martha Bailey
With an academic background in History and previous experience at Historic England, Martha is passionate about the role that good research should play in the conservation of the historic environment. She is skilled at locating, analysing and communicating complex information to help ensure that change to historic places responds carefully to historical context and heritage significance.
Martha is particularly interested in what careful study of place and space can tell us about how people lived in the past, and how this knowledge can be used to drive sensitive, sustainable change in the future. Her experience spans a broad portfolio of projects, including Heritage Impact Assessments, Conservation Management Plans and Conservation Area Appraisals. She has worked across a wide range of sites, from the precincts of Winchester Cathedral to an inter-war airfield.
