Brittany Elliott

Architectural Graduate, B.Arch; M.Arch

Brittany is a Graduate of Architecture who completed university in 2021, beginning her career in practice. In continuing to further her knowledge, Brittany is also a member of the Asia Pacific BIM Group which supports knowledge sharing and development of BIM skills across the region and the wider practice.

Based in Sydney, Brittany has experience in supporting projects within the city, as well as assisting colleagues in Hong Kong and Hobart. Under the direction of project leads, Brittany works across a spectrum of deliverables from technical drawing packages, construction documentation, photographic archival recording, and conceptual design as well as attending site visits and project meetings. She also assists in the development of specification schedules and Heritage Impact Assessments.

Brittany’s interest in architecture stemmed from traveling to Europe and immersing herself in history. This continued during her time spent studying in Venice as part of a collaborative design studio. Brittany has an underlying interest in psychology, a nod to her desire to design for the human experience, considering people and place.

‘My interest lies in exploring and designing spaces that are centred around the human experience.’

At this stage of her career, Brittany takes advantage of every opportunity to learn and develop, especially through dialogue with contractors on site, understanding the process behind what they are doing and how that will impact the project.

‘You learn a lot on site about construction techniques, particularly when working with a heritage building, the solutions have to be a bit more innovative.’

Brittany is a participant in the Purcell Design Programme which runs across the company. The programme is set around a series of design workshops that encourage hand drawing within live site context, encouraging attendees to develop skills and better communication through sketching techniques.

Brittany Elliott studied at the University of New South Wales before joining Purcell in 2022.
