News: Outline planning granted for new Garden Town in Kent with high value placed on heritage assets
Heritage assets form a strong part of the plans for a new Garden Town in Kent, Otterpool Park
We are delighted to reveal our work as Heritage Advisors for Otterpool Park, which has successfully received outline planning permission from Folkestone & Hythe District Council for a new Garden Town. Purcell’s role involved developing strategies for the inclusion and enhancement of many and varied heritage assets across this area of Kent. Design of the garden town has been influenced by the site’s landscape setting and heritage, and a commitment to creating a high-quality place of exemplary design and high sustainability standards. High value has been placed on protecting and increasing access to the historic Westenhanger Castle, its causeway and medieval barns, WWII facilities at Lympne Airfield, prehistoric barrows, and a Roman villa.
