Abbey of St Edmund: A Millennium of English History in West Suffolk
St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in collaboration with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has unveiled the appointment of the architectural team and consultants for The Abbey of St Edmund: A Millennium of English History in West Suffolk project.
Backed by a development grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this ambitious venture will preserve and celebrate the rich history of the Abbey and Cathedral.
Purcell are working as lead architect, heritage consultant, and overall consultant for the project.

With our expert design team, we aim to develop innovative plans for a new visitor centre, an expanded Cathedral cloister, and the preservation of the Abbey’s historic ruins, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.”
