Radley College Chapel Extension Wins RIBA National Award
The Purcell-designed chapel extension at Radley College has won a prestigious RIBA National Award, one of only 30 buildings in the UK to do so. The award is the latest in a series of accolades for the project, including RIBA South Building of the Year 2023.
Judges praised the extension’s ‘masterful blend of traditional and contemporary design elements’, ‘meticulous selection of materials’ and ‘impressive interiors’,deeming it a ‘masterclass in modern architectural design’.

The now multi-award-winning project has increased the capacity of Thomas Graham Jackson’s Grade II-listed chapel building by 30%, fulfilling the client brief and allowing Radley College to offer an increased number of scholarship places.
