Oxford's Bridge Labs scheme wins planning approval
We are delighted that the redevelopment of Beaver House into Bridge Labs has won planning approval. The project will transform Beaver House into Bridge Labs, a state-of-the-art Life Science Facility which offers flexible lab and office space.
Alongside new research and development space, Bridge Labs will deliver high quality public space improvements, which include a new cafe, enlarged and enhanced public realm and a community garden.
. The development will create a new local hub where people can collaborate and innovate in a modern environment, which complements the city’s history and future. The 212,000 sqft project will strengthen Oxford’s position at the centre of life science development and respond to the demand for laboratory space within the city.
The vision places environmental and social responsibility at its core. Bridge Labs will be a low carbon development with an advanced level of sustainability performance, targeting BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum. The project considers its full lifecycle carbon footprint, implements energy-efficient and renewable solutions, and significantly enhances the biodiversity on the site.
We are delighted that the redevelopment of Beaver House in Oxford, was unanimously approved at Planning Committee following a year of design development and close collaboration with NBBJ as Laboratory specialists, and the client team at Forge KN. The project will deliver modern, contextual architecture, which is sympathetic to the historic setting and activates the street scene on this principal route into Oxford city centre.
